About Ethan
My name is Ethan Mackin and I am a graduate from the University of Denver with a degree in Computer Science and a double minor in Mathematics and Business Analytics.
I have professional experience developing websites for health equity firms as well as working as a Cybersecurity Consultant developing cloud solutions and software that are still used to this day.
I am a patient and empathetic teacher and will create lessons for your individual learning pace. I am experienced at breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible lessons and I know I will be able to help you along your Computer Science journey, no matter where you are in your learning process.

My teaching methods include hands on tutorials of programming concepts with practical examples and practice materials.
A typical lesson plans involves a presentation of the intuition, use cases, and theory behind a concept; and then a hands on example that I will walk you through; and finally a practice example for the student to work on on their own to solidify the concepts taught.
My knowledge spans all levels of computer science, from complete beginners, to advanced courses in university. This includes basic programming languages and syntax (C++, Java, Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, etc), Algorithms and Data Structures, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Databases, Web Development, Software Development, and Cybersecurity.
I break down complex concepts into byte sized lessons with hands on practice that allow the student to fully learn and internalize the concepts needed to build an understanding of how coding works and eventually how to solve complex problems by using the building blocks of programming.
I have years of experience in web and software development in a professional context which allows me to teach the modern concepts that are the standard in this day and age.
