About Kathryn
English Literature is a subject for the curious, critical, and creative mind. As a teacher, I am passionate about inspiring my students to express their opinions and challenge my interpretations of the text - and be challenged in return. I have taught Secondary and A-Level students and enjoy exploring the world of literature through my students' eyes.

I have experience teaching large classrooms and one-to-one tuition. I have a BA in English Literature and a Master's in English Literature from the University of Durham. A patient and thorough teacher, I help students to develop their essay writing and comprehension skills. Continued reading is essential to growing as a literature student, and that practice makes perfect!
After graduating with my undergraduate degree in 2015, I became a qualified TESOL teacher and worked in PR, Communications, and Marketing. I am a nuanced grammarian and a stickler for semantics, and I believe studying literature develops an independent mind and the ability to understand the world from different perspectives.
I am happy to tutor Secondary and Higher students and am also available to support students currently studying for their undergraduate degree. I am also open to tutoring younger learners.
