About Michael
I have a BA (hons) in Philosophy and Classical Studies and a Master's by Research in European Philosophy. I firmly believe that a humanities education ought to be available to all, and that even, perhaps especially, those in the sciences could benefit from a knowledge of Plato and Aristotle.

My teaching method is straightforward: I will discuss basic principles, then assign reading, and then offer a discussion on the reading. I can also offer more specific help in preparing for exams (for A-levels, for instance). Unlike some, I believe that a philosophical education, delivered properly, is suitable for any age (school age and above) and will tailor the level of lessons appropriately.

Michael is an excellent teacher. He is very patient and works hard to overcome hurdles. My son was having a lot of problems but started to make some real progress after the teacher was able to break down the difficulties in a way he could understand.
