About Wing Kin

I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Solo Performance (trombone) from the Royal Northern College of Music, I bring a solid academic foundation alongside extensive professional experience as a conductor, educator, and performer.

I am currently an instrumental teacher with Inspire (Nottinghamshire Music Hub) and an accredited music teacher with the Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership, delivering individual, group, and whole-class ensemble lessons. I can teach from beginner to diploma level.

I have significant experience directing and coaching ensembles of all levels. In Hong Kong, I led and coached primary, secondary, and community youth groups, and participated in conducting masterclasses. In the UK, I am currently the Musical Director of Burton Joyce Community Brass and previously served as Ensemble Director of the Peak District Wind Band.

As a performer, I have worked as a freelance trombonist with leading professional orchestras and ensembles, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Orchestra, and Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia. Since relocating to the UK, I have regularly appeared with ensembles such as the Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra, Bardi Symphony Orchestra, Rutland Sinfonia, Peak Wind Orchestra, The GUS Band, Carlton Brass, and Stamford Brass.

I love music. I want to share my music and experience to my students. Hope everyone will love music!!

About the lesson

Having fun and making progress!

I focus on the fundamental and build up the technique gradually. I am in classical and conservatory approach to make you the great progress. You can have ABRSM examination and join some competition. I will help to prepare the music you need. However, it is important to make students fun. I will ask to play some Disney song or film music as well or some music which the students want to play.

I can teach trombone from beginner to diploma level, euphonium from beginner to grade 8 and tuba from grade 1 to 5.

I can teach in English, Cantonese.
