About Laura
I am Laura but most people call me Lu, I have a passion for English and I believe that the way it is taught in secondary school discourages students from full appreciation of literature. This is why it is so important to me that students learn through discussion and from their own opinions and critical thinking of literature. Grammar and spelling are important factors but pointless without passion. I hope to be a professor someday, as my mother is an English teacher who taught me everything that I know. The subject of English can be fun an engaging, especially with me.

I believe that active learning through discussion, brainstorming and activities provides a well rounded and engaged understanding that leads to an independent style of learning. This allows the student to think independently and critically, preparing them for any question given to them. English is not a subject where one can learn essays off for, it requires a deep knowledge, which I can help the student to gain through much discussion and activity work.
