About Francesco
My name is Francesco Basso. In February 2015 I obtained the three-year degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures with a mark of 103/110 and in February 2017 the master's degree in Modern Languages and Literatures in the branch related to linguistics and didactics of languages with a mark of 106/110 at the University of Salerno, and the languages that I studied during my university course are mainly English and Spanish. In 2018 I did an internship at the Italian Academy of Salerno for the teaching of Italian L2 to foreigners and in December of the same year I obtained a first level university master's degree in "Didactics and promotion of Italian language and culture to foreigners" at the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice.

The ideal teaching method is in my opinion strongly based on direct, communicative, and humanistic-affective approaches. The language must be studied not in an abstract way but through its use in everyday and real life situations, consequently highlighting not only its grammar or its lexicon, but also the aspects related to its culture. Students must be at the center of the lesson, and must have in the teacher a guide capable of managing the different situations that may arise within a certain group and of maintaining an atmosphere of serenity and harmony within the class environment. The teacher must be able to put the students at ease by presenting them with materials appropriate to their linguistic level and taking into account their socio-cultural background. Another ability that I consider necessary is that of knowing how to promote teamwork and collaboration between the students themselves, who must be able to work together to be able to solve a problem. Facing a specific task alone can in fact lead to student demotivation especially in case of failure, while team work makes it possible to compare different knowledge and strategies, and also allows you to keep motivation high, this aspect of primary importance importance.
