About Danielle

I am a qualified tutor. My specialities cover Graphic Design and Personal Training in both academic and practical application within the classroom and online platforms. My current role is Senior Designer based in the City. I have been with my current employer for 19 years, and have 20 years' experience working in design studios and in-house design teams. I am a volunteer Mentor to graduate students from the London College of Communication. I am a regular panel attendee for LCC Graduate School Industry Round Table events. In my current role I run a work placement scheme for students who attended different Art and Design Universities around London. These were students studying BA Hons, HND and Foundation Courses. Previously, I have volunteered for two years as a support worker which involved me assisting in Art Therapy classes for people of all ages at a psychiatric hospital in Kent. In my spare time I also tutor 1-2-1 for an Academic Education Service within the specialised field of Graphic Design for students with learning difficulties.

About the lesson

I like to find out what understanding a student has of the subject and help them to find passion in their studies. Graphic Design is ever changing with technology, I like to encourage students to think out of the box.

I was 13 years old and it was a Sega Mega Drive! The colours both fast and graphics robust, I found amazing and so engaging. It had a huge influence on both of my careers - Graphic Design and Personal Training.
What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?
Virtual Reality. To be able to experience unlimited adventures and activities in the comfort of your own home is priceless.
Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.
Graphic Design is essential in the computer world. We have the ability and technology to change peoples perception on images and typography. In the field of fitness we use technology to track and gauge customers fitness levels, nutrition habits and much more.
Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?
I have other role models, however I take alot from their work ethics and their creative influences on culture.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
Never judge a book by its cover - you never know what skills people develop behind closed doors that will rock your world in public.
