About Sivarshana

Hi :) Welcome to my profile. My name is Sivarshana and I grew up in Switzerland. Therefore, my first language is Swiss/ German. I moved to UK in 2016. I graduated from the Zurich University of Primary Education and hold the degree Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education. After my study I worked as a primary school teacher for 2 years. I taught German and English, among other subjects. During my studies I also worked in schools as an assistant teacher for 3 years and also offered private tuitions. I chose online teaching because I love working with people. I also find languages very impressive and am therefore happy to teach the languages I know. I am fluent in German, Swiss, English, French and Tamil.

About the lesson

I believe in students oriented teaching. My approach to teaching is very much based on the needs, goals and levels of the students. I find it very important to properly understand the students' learning goals and learning style so that I can adapt the teaching method and subject according to the students' prior knowledge, level and needs. In addition to planning and delivering quality lessons in physical and virtual environments, I am also experienced in evaluating examinations for the grammar school preparation. I use a range of traditional and progressive methods including experiential learning opportunities whenever possible. That means learning through lots of interaction and learning by doing. Although I often use textbooks for beginners, I like to create tailor-made material for all levels. On top of all that I make sure you feel comfortable and most importantly, that you have fun in my lessons! Thank you for your interest. I hope to meet you soon.

Deadly! Siva is an excellent tutor. She has helped me massively with my confidence with learning German. Each lesson is incredibly well organised, and includes precious lesson recap, reading exercises, learning new vocabulary and building sentences, role play exercises and Siva is wonderful with answering questions and tailoring each lesson to cover areas that are needed. My confidence in pronunciation has improved massively, and I thoroughly enjoy the lessons Siva offers. Highly recommend!
