About Rachel

I am a 4th year Griffith University student studying in my last year towards a Bachelor of Education majoring in Secondary HPE and History. The students I have worked with enjoyed my methods and showed significant improvement in the short time I had with them. Many went on to succeed in their assessment tasks.
This will be my first foray into 'traditional' tutoring but I am confident that my skills will carry over easily into this new medium. I am excited to see how much improvement and learning we can achieve in smaller or individual groups opposed to classes of 25-30 students. I think it will be good to really dig down and work together toward the desired outcomes.
Lastly, I am a big fan of open lines of communication, if something isn't working for you or you don't get what I explaining because I'm talking rubbish, then absolutely let me know. I cannot help or improve my own skills if I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Each student is different so if you have a preferred method of learning I will do my best to accommodate you. In the end, I am here to learn from you almost as much as you are from me.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based largely on the student and what they need or want to achieve. I am generally a pretty chill teacher and will more often lead you toward the right answer/conclusion than simply give you the answer. I want you, as the student, to have/find the agency within yourself so that in the future you will be able to find the answers yourself. The aim is to get you to a point where you don't need me at all. As a fourth year education student at Griffith University I have a comprehensive understanding of what the Australian Curriculum requires of students. If you are struggling with what your assessment task is asking of you, fear not, I will teach you as many tricks of the trade as I can so you know, for this subject and all others, exactly what you need to do.
