About Georgia
I am a dedicated, consistent and driven student currently in my third and final year of a Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics at Griffith University with a view to teach ESL/ TESOL after graduation. Upon completing my degree in November, I will commence a Graduate Certificate in TESOL. I am fascinated by the impact of language and education on communities and the related cultural and sociological implications these integral facets of society have. My five collective years of customer service in the hospitality industry have enabled me to develop excellent teamwork and communication skills, and of course, patience. The month I spent in Peru teaching English as a Second Language, STEM and debate (accompanied by my ongoing studies in Spanish) was deeply formative for the trajectory of my career. My eleven months with Study Monkey Tuition as a tutor has improved my already outstanding interpersonal skills as well as expanding my experience working with children and adolescents and sparking my endless curiosity of different learning styles and tutoring methods. To summarise, Linguistics and everything that accompanies it is my life passion!

My teaching methodology focusses on nurturing the learner to create accuracy. Any English lessons (either to native speakers needing help with the Australian System or learners of English as a second or foreign language) will be grounded in linguistics. I base my lessons on questions students ask me and problem areas I have identified and seek further resources where necessary such as curriculums, past papers, text books. I like to keep my lessons engaging and low-pressure so the experience is always fun!
