About Mari-Anne
Hi there! My name is Marianne. I am vocal teacher and I enjoy teaching vocals to students of all levels in an encouraging and relaxed environment.
I have a degree in BMus Jazz Voice at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I also have a Higher National Diploma in Music Performance.
I have 10 years of experience performing in venues across the UK, including The Royal Albert Hall, The Bridgewater Hall and City Hall Newcastle.
I have experience teaching vocals to beginners, right through to advanced level and can help you explore and develop your voice, covering a range of styles including Jazz, Pop, RnB and Folk. Additionally, I can coach you for performances and auditions.

I create a relaxed and open learning environment that is warm and welcoming. I promote discussion and feedback from my students so we can adapt and get the most out of lessons by catering to each individuals learning style and preferences. I offer teaching to all age groups.
With younger students and beginners of all ages, we will focus on building up repertoire in an enjoyable and exciting way as well as learning they foundations of vocal technique, building up confidence using the voice and performing. With older and more experienced students, I can lead through vocal technique, specifically Accent Method. We can work through repertoire chosen by myself or selected by you. Other areas I can help you with include, music theory, ear training and improvisation.
Additionally, I can help to coach and prepare students are applying to Jazz Conservatoire undergraduate programmes and work through audition requirements.
I also teach music theory, stage craft and improvisation.
