About Graham
I have 40 years professional experience as a professional musician and teacher. I love helping people to learn and enjoy making music. When I was 20 I began to play as a session musician in recording studios and onstage in London and elsewhere in Europe. I played with and for many inspiring people, including Al Stewart, Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens, Gary Brooker, Alan Price, Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Harry Nilsson, ELP and with producers George Martin, Alan Parsons, Gus Dudgeon, Bill Jackson and Richard Perry. I was also a member of various bands including Magna Carta and Canton Trig and performed solo on the folk circuit.
'Smith and Friends' was the name of my HTV series of short programmes in which I played every member of the group. This was a fun project.
Shortly after I spent several years in California working as a band leader and session player and during this time played with, amongst others, Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead and piano legend Nicky Hopkins.
Throughout this time I was lucky enough to work with and learn from some of the greatest engineers and producers. I now have a love of the process of recording and would very much like to share this with you.

- learn to read musical notation, tablature and chord charts - if
you wish
Either way, I will help you to enjoy what we do because making music is wonderful fun.
