About Liora

I earned a PhD in Musicology and have spent 13 years teaching guitar. My musical journey began with a fascination for how music communicates emotion and connects people. Over time, this passion expanded into performance, research, and education, allowing me to help others discover their own musical abilities.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, creativity, and continuous development. I adapt lessons to meet the unique needs of each student while maintaining clear goals and structure. Through technical instruction, musical exploration, and supportive coaching, I help learners grow both as guitarists and musicians. Creating a positive learning experience is central to my approach.

Outside teaching, I enjoy composing, performing, and researching musical traditions from around the world. These interests enrich my lessons and provide fresh perspectives for students. Teaching guitar is one of the most fulfilling parts of my career because I get to witness students achieve goals they once thought were beyond reach. Their growth and enthusiasm continue to inspire me.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons focus on developing strong technical skills while encouraging creativity and musical understanding. Students learn rhythm playing, chord progressions, fingerstyle techniques, lead guitar skills, improvisation, ear training, and music theory through practical exercises and song-based learning. I help learners understand the musical ideas behind what they play so they can become more independent musicians. This creates lasting confidence and growth.

Each lesson is designed around the student’s current ability and personal interests. Beginners focus on building coordination, learning chords, and developing rhythm control. Intermediate players strengthen technique, musical expression, and repertoire development. Advanced students work on improvisation, performance preparation, and stylistic versatility. Regular guidance and feedback help learners continue progressing toward their goals.

I believe music education should be inspiring and enjoyable. My lessons create an environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and improve. As skills develop, confidence naturally follows. My goal is to help learners become expressive musicians who enjoy playing guitar for years to come.
