About Sofia
Music should never feel like a chore even when you are tackling music theory. I actually prefer learning by ear over staring at a page of dots. My Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology from UCLA helps me bridge the gap between technical grade exam prep and the soul of the instrument. In my 9 years of playing and teaching 103 students, I have seen that fingerpicking and barre chords come easier when you enjoy the process.
I have taught acoustic technique to everyone from teens to advanced players. Trust me to keep the energy high. My approach is solid.

You might find yourself struggling with a chord transition, but I am right there to show you the trick. My Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology background informs how I break down lead guitar or songwriting components for any level. I share free chord charts and tab sheets after each class to reinforce what we covered. We will work on your specific hurdles, whether that is mastering blues progressions or preparing for a big exam.
