About Ella
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Studies and a Master of Music in Guitar Performance. Over the last 12 years, I have worked with students ranging from complete beginners to experienced musicians seeking advanced guidance. My interest in guitar began through a fascination with how music can tell stories and bring people together. Teaching allows me to share that passion while helping learners build confidence and skill. Supporting musical growth continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I encourage students to think about how music works and how different techniques contribute to expression. Lessons are structured yet flexible, allowing learners to develop skills while pursuing personal interests. I believe every student can make meaningful progress when provided with clear guidance and encouragement. This creates a positive environment where learning feels achievable.
Outside teaching, I enjoy composing original music, studying performance techniques, and collaborating with other musicians. These experiences help keep my lessons fresh and relevant. Watching students gain confidence and discover new abilities is deeply satisfying. I strive to create a supportive learning experience that promotes both growth and enjoyment. My goal is to help learners develop lasting musical skills and confidence.

My guitar lessons are designed to make learning both exciting and meaningful. I focus on helping students understand the instrument as a tool for creativity, expression, and communication. Lessons cover rhythm development, chord fluency, fretboard navigation, picking accuracy, strumming patterns, and musical dynamics through practical activities that encourage active participation. Rather than relying only on repetition, I connect techniques to real songs and musical situations so students can immediately see their value. This approach helps learners stay motivated while building strong foundations.
Every student receives a learning plan tailored to their goals and interests. Some learners want to improve solo playing through vibrato control, expressive phrasing, bending techniques, and tone shaping. Others prefer rhythm guitar, accompaniment skills, or songwriting support. I use musical storytelling, listening exercises, guided improvisation, and structured challenges to strengthen both technique and confidence. Personalized feedback helps students recognize progress while identifying areas for improvement. This balance keeps learning productive and enjoyable.
My goal is to help students become confident musicians who enjoy exploring their creativity. As skills develop, learners gain greater freedom to express ideas and connect with music more deeply. Lessons encourage discipline, curiosity, and self-expression. Every achievement becomes part of a larger musical journey. I want students to feel inspired each time they pick up the guitar.
