About Ozgur

Welcome! My name is Ozgur, but you can call me Oz. I'm a 19 year old pianist, guitarist, composer, producer, and performer, and I want to help you achieve your goals as a musician. Whether you are a curious beginner or a pre-professional, I am to help you level up your abilities and reach your potential.

Here's a little snippet about who I am. I'm Turkish, but I grew up in Singapore, and I am currently studying at BIMM Music Institute in Birmingham, UK. My qualifications include an IB Diploma, and I have completed training in Jazz piano and advanced theory at Berklee College of Music. I grew up playing classical piano from a young age, but went on to develop a passion for classic rock music, which branched out to include genres such as progressive metal, jazz, and fusion. I picked up guitar at age 15 and used my knowledge of piano and music theory to develop my technique. Being able to cross-reference my piano and guitar knowledge gave me a massive advantage as a learner, thus enabling me to create a foolproof practice method that can soon be yours too! My teaching style relies heavily on consistent practice and discipline, but if I had to narrow it down to one thing, my goal is to help YOU create a personalised and structured routine that works for YOU.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for exams, or looking to develop advanced performance or production skills. I focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and practical, combining technique, musicianship, creativity, and real-world application. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and can cover piano, guitar, music theory, composition, songwriting, music production, or exam preparation.

I am a classically trained pianist with a diploma-level qualification, a self-taught professional guitarist, composer, and music producer. I hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, have studied at Berklee College of Music, and am currently completing my undergraduate degree in Music Production & Engineering and Guitar Performance at BIMM Music Institute Birmingham. My diverse musical background includes classical, jazz, fusion, rock, metal, and progressive music, allowing me to teach students of all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to more experienced musicians. My aim is to create a supportive, enjoyable learning environment where every lesson helps students gain confidence, develop their skills and discipline, and achieve their personal musical goals.
