About Julian
Teaching guitar provides a way to pass on the joy of creating music to others. I remember picking up my first instrument and struggling to find the right notes, which is why I aim for total clarity in my instruction.
As a graduate of the National University of Singapore, I combine my formal BM Songwriting degree with a deep understanding of practical guitar work. My lessons incorporate reading sheet music, power chords, lead guitar, and strumming patterns to build a well-rounded skill set. Working with 287 students over 13 years has taught me that ear training, tuning, maintenance, blues progressions, and music theory are essential. I enjoy helping people develop their own style while keeping the vibe relaxed and focused on steady improvement.

Diagnostic skills check before building the lesson plan is how we start. We begin here. After 13 years of teaching, I know that identifying your specific gaps early saves months of frustration. My BM Songwriting degree informs how I approach these diagnostic sessions to ensure the material fits your goals.
I find that music is meant to be shared. It is satisfying to see the progress made when a student finally understands how the fretboard works. You will enjoy the process of turning basic ideas into full songs.
