About Monya
I am a licensed physical therapist in performing arts treating dancers, with elite athletes, and with pediatrics from infants to teens. I worked as a dance instructor at Starr studios and Willamette University teaching ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, jazz, and pointe for all age groups. Additionally, I worked as a ballet coach for the Willamette Bearcats Football team and have designed and taught a ballet based program cross training a skeleton athlete virtually. I have been a ballet dancer for 24 years, have 10 years of experience in contemporary and lyrical, and have 8 years of experience in jazz. I love teaching and choreographing and helping individuals find their love for dance and feel confident and strong through movement.

As a dance instructor/tutor, I hope to help my students find or maintain the joy of dance, reach their dance goals, enhance their technique, and guide them towards feeling confident and comfortable in their bodies. I have experience working with individuals from 6 years old to adults, and am adept in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and lyrical styles. Additionally, I am a licensed physical therapist and use my background knowledge of the body and injury rehabilitation and prevention to ensure movement patterns optimize strength, goals, and safety. Lastly, I have experience developing group and individualized ballet based classes to cross train other athletes to help prevent injury and optimize performance in their individual sport.
