About Hayley
Hi!
I'm Hayley. I've always loved science and math and I bet I can make you love them, too.
I graduated with my undergraduate degree in psychology with minors in biology and chemistry. Recently, I completed my master's degree in Genetic Counseling. My naturally creative tendencies have been helpful in creating unique studying strategies and proved to be useful for my study groups, too.
As a Genetic Counselor, I educate patients and their families about medical genetics and other science-related concepts. This often involves adjusting my teaching strategy to the varying levels of understanding. I am all about simplifying concepts and using resources to help with long-term retention.
Whether you're looking for a one-time refresher on a specific topic or long-term help in a class, I'd love help you accomplish your goal!

Whether you love science and math, or it's just not your thing, that's okay! Let's figure out how you learn best. I will tailor my teaching methods according to your learning style.
I prefer to present lessons in a PowerPoint while having an open dialogue with the learner. I find that a PowerPoint provides a visual aid for the learner and helps to guide the lesson. Other techniques I often use are mnemonic devices, interactive and realistic activities, and fill-in-the-blank study guides.
The lesson plans are intended for high school (general or AP biology, general or AP chemistry, general or AP algebra, etc.) and undergraduate college students (up to 400 level classes- biology, chemistry, genetics).
