About Emily
I'm a friendly, warm and engaged person who has a genuine interest in helping others.
While I love reading and writing, I know this isn't the same for everyone and am always looking for ways to make learning English and English Literature fun and enjoyable.
I have a wide range of interests and have recently completed another degree in Environmental Science with the Open University. I'm good with technology and software and enjoy finding creative ways to use online platforms for teaching and learning.

I'll spend some time getting to know you and how you learn best, including which areas of English you need to focus on.
We'll then have sessions together that will include some quick, fun exercises as well as more in-depth reading and writing tasks.
I will provide feedback and encouragement as you go.
I have 20 years' experience teaching in UK schools, with a PGCE in Secondary English and an English Literature degree.
I'm happy to work with any secondary-aged student and can adapt my style and resources to fit each individual.
Lessons will be up to an hour although I feel 45 minutes is best suited to 1 to 1 online sessions.
