About Rakshit

I'm currently preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, which means I spend an arguably unhealthy amount of time reading about politics, economics, history and philosophy. Fortunately, I also happen to enjoy these things.

I've taught undergraduate students, worked in academic research, and spent the better part of the last few years trying to understand why societies, governments and economies behave the way they do (often irrationally).

As a teacher, I prefer discussions over monologues, arguments over memorized answers, and students who aren't afraid to tell me I'm wrong

Outside classroom? I am a coffee enthusiast, trying new brewing methods, I like Jazz music, and take my politics very seriously, not myself :P

About the lesson

I enjoy teaching, particularly when students ask questions that make me reconsider my own arguments. My classes tend to wander between political philosophy, economics, history and whatever is happening in the world that week. We do eventually return to the syllabus, I promise.

I like students who are curious, skeptical and unafraid to disagree with me. I'm more interested in helping you develop an argument than making you memorize mine.
