About Tess
My name is Tess de Ducla, and I am a college student in Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in criminology. I was born in Montreal and lived there until the age of two, then moved to France, where I lived until I was fifteen. Having spent most of my life in French-speaking environments, French is my native language, and I bring both linguistic fluency and cultural understanding to my tutoring.

I am a native French speaker and French tutor who tailors each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style. My approach focuses on building confidence through conversation, clear grammar explanations, and practical vocabulary, while also developing listening, reading, and writing skills using real-life French examples. Each lesson typically includes a short warm-up conversation, a targeted focus area, guided practice, and personalized feedback. What sets me apart is my native pronunciation, cultural insight, and strong academic background, including earning a perfect 5/5 on the AP French exam. I work with middle school, high school, AP French, and college students, as well as beginners and intermediate learners looking to improve fluency, pronunciation, or overall confidence in French.
