Hi, I have broad knowledge and excellent skills that aid in both helping you prepare your thesis and teaching English. I have worked in ESL instruction, writing, editing, publishing, architecture, property development and business (I have run a number of successful businesses and employed about 300 people). I have also traveled extensively around the world and lived in Australia, Taiwan, England, Scotland and Hungary. My accent is neutral which is good for ESL and I am highly proficient in English (it is a passion). I have always excelled in writing in university courses (receiving A in virtually every thesis or written project in Architecture, Law, Literature or MBA subjects) and I can help you achieve much higher grades in writing because I have also taught ESL for 9 years, half of that time for university preparation in both Australia and Taiwan.
I teach intensive English in order to rapidly increase your English knowledge and skills, but I teach in a friendly and engaging way, customizing lessons to suit your needs and learning style.
Results-driven, e.g. I prepared many students for the GEPT tests in Taiwan and 100% of my students passed both tests every year (over 3 years), compared to a national pass rate of only 11%. Have also taught pre-uni students for rapid improvement in IELTS.
Lessons vary, but if using an article, I will explain the vocabulary and phraseology, correct pronunciation as we read, ensure meaning is accurately understood, discuss the topic conversationally and apply with practice. I try to allow each student to speak as much as possible with immediate correction and expansion.
Besides teaching ESL for 9 years full time, I have taught ESL teachers using the Australian accredited course that I wrote: Certificate IV in TESOL Methodology.
