About Matthew

For more than 20 years I have worked in independent schools teaching computer science, first in New York City, and currently in Washington DC. Over that time, one of my biggest joys has been seeing students click with code and start to "get it." When your program finally runs the way you wanted it to, or a concept you've been struggling with finally makes sense, there is no better feeling. Those are the moments I strive for as an educator.

About the lesson

I'm here to help with the basics of programming, as well as understanding advanced data structures and algorithms. Typically, I advocate for project based learning to help better understand complex topics in practical applications. I have been working with students for over 20 years, both inside school and as a private tutor.

Deadly! Mathew is an amazing tutor who helps me understand the materials from scratch. Answering all questions and giving very helpful explanation to understand the concepts. He also adds extra time in sessions if you need more help.
