Hi! My name is Myles, but most people call me MJ. I’m a passionate, reliable, and experienced tutor who’s dedicated to helping students feel confident in their learning. As a tutor, my goal is to create a space where students feel confident, curious, and capable. My teaching method is grounded in patience, personalized support, and active engagement. Whether it's through breaking down complex topics into bite-sized, relatable steps or using creative analogies, I always aim to make learning feel less intimidating and more empowering.
Teaching Method & Techniques
I use a student-centered approach that blends explanation, guided practice, and reflection. I adapt to each student’s learning style—visual, auditory, or kinesthetic—and use a combination of:
Socratic questioning to encourage critical thinking
Scaffolding (gradually increasing difficulty)
Real-life examples or storytelling to make abstract ideas stick
Frequent check-ins to ensure understanding and reduce overwhelm
A Typical Lesson Plan
Check-in (5 minutes): See how the student is doing and recap previous material
