About Sandy

Hello! My name is Sandy!
I'm in year 10 studying at Highvale Secondary College!

I find learning a very fun experience, almost like playing a video game and you need to play through each level just to win. In a way, learning is like that to me, everyone has the potential to be their very best. I'd like to develop my love of learning to others as well.

I have been living in Melbourne for 13 years now and I have studied English ever since I can imagine. English has always been one of my favourite subjects growing up, and it's safe to say I'm fluent.

Marks that I have received in School
- Has received an A+ final mark for English
- Consistently gets 85 and above for English essays and writing tasks.
- 95-98 for public speaking as well
- My little sister( who I help very often) is doing a year above for English.

I like to see it as every student is capable of doing well in English (and every other subject as well), You just need to chuck the following ingredients into the mixing bowl which is your confidence, motivation, and passion!

About the lesson

English can be a pretty daunting subject as they are(usually). I would love to get to know your child as for what they enjoy doing, their interests, the best way they learn/learning styles, just for me to get to know your child better. Through lessons, we can figure out together the areas your child needs help in, or even develop a new skill. I like making small goals for your child to reach each week, so that it's easier to achieve, making them feel accomplished with these goals and more motivated as well. In the following lessons, we go into greater detail in the areas in English that your child is finding difficult in and in no time we should be able to develop the skills and confidence your child needs in English.
Confidence is Key!

I implement different resources and ways to teach students English, as different children have different learning styles and different needs. I use different resources such as educational videos, short films, novels, self made pop quizzes and Kahoot. I do teach children by their textbooks or workbooks with the areas they need help in.
