About Ryan
Originally from Llanidloes in Mid Wales, I have been based in London for the past ten years. After completing my degree at the Russell Group University of York, I trained for two years at the prestigious École Philippe Gaulier in Paris. Alongside my teaching career, I work as a professional actor, having performed in the West End, at the Edinburgh Fringe, across Europe, and in my own original work.

One of my favourite subjects to teach is GCSE English Language and Literature, and I have extensive experience with AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, and Cambridge IGCSE. For many students, the idea of having a tutor can feel daunting. If a child is finding a subject difficult, tutoring can sometimes feel like a reminder that they’re "failing" — and entrance exam preparation can add even more pressure. That’s why my teaching philosophy centres on creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere while remaining fully focused on the goals ahead.
I work hard to ensure that no student dreads their lesson. Instead, I want them to feel comfortable, confident, and able to ask about anything they don’t understand. Lessons are a space to grow, improve, and celebrate progress — not a place for judgement.
Every student learns differently, and I adapt my teaching style to suit the individual. Some children find traditional classroom environments overwhelming, which can lead to the false belief that they are not capable. My lessons break down that barrier by offering a calm, personalised space where students can finally focus and thrive.
