About Vernon

I work as a Head of Department (Psychology and Computer Science) at a high performing Secondary School in the UK. I also work as an Examiner for the AQA and Edexcel Boards. I have a 2:1 degree in Psychology, as well as a Masters in Child Development (University of London). I have worked with a large variety of students from many different backgrounds and with varying needs. I have a strong work ethic, and aim to instil this in my students. I am proud of the many students who have gone on from my teaching to be successful at University, Work or Apprenticeships depending on their own ambitions. A large proportion of my Psychology students, have gone on to study the subject at degree level and beyond.

About the lesson

I am extremely enthusiastic about my subjects and committed to getting the best out of my students. I take an interactive approach to teaching - and am keen that students get fully involved in their own learning. For both Psychology and Computer Science I believe that practical work is some of the best ways to learn these subjects, on top of the traditional focus on examination technique. I have taught both Psychology and Computer Science for over 15 years, and have particular experience of the GCSE and A Level courses. My lessons are typically between 30-60 minutes long, depending on the needs of individual students.
