I'm a qualified chartered accountant (A.C.A) with a specialism of tutoring Maths and English for the 11+ examinations. Having tutored thousands of hours, I tutor full time in South London, primarily preparing children for the 11+ entrance exams for U.K's finest grammar and independent schools. Many of my tutees have received offers, including academic scholarships, to many of U.K's leading secondary schools including King's College School, Wimbledon; Dulwich College, London; Whitgift, Surrey; and Wallington County Grammar School, Surrey. My younger son, with my tutoring support, gained entrance to Sutton Grammar School, Surrey. In addition to tutoring children focused on the 11+ exams, I also provide support to pupils, ranging from year 3 to year 9, who simply are in need of a little extra help. MY APPROACH I fully understand the rigorous requirements of the 11+ and Common Entrance Examinations. With the blocks of knowledge and critical skills to acquire, the exams can be extremely demanding, even for the best of students. That is why I believe the secret of succeeding is "preparation, preparation, preparation". I place considerable emphasis on: - Sharing secret expert "hacks" that empower students to learn and apply concepts considerably faster; - Ensuring your child actually enjoys the lessons, finds them personally rewarding, and maintains motivation through sustained mentorship and encouragement; and, - In recognition that we all have different learning abilities (including working with children with learning difficulties), tailoring a learning programme that suits your child to ensure his/her potential is maximised. HOW I CAN HELP YOUR CHILD FOR EXAM PREP I fully support your child with practice from a comprehensive database of over one hundred 11+ / Common Entrance examination past papers from UK's highest-ranked independent and grammar schools. With immediate feedback, your child can identify improvement opportunities in topics and techniques. This builds a strong knowledge base, self-confidence and reduces anxiety. By the end of the run-up to the exams, with my tutoring assistance, I believe your child would be able to demonstrate: - Excellent problem-solving capabilities in Maths, attained from a high level of subject familiarisation and continuous constructive feedback. - In English reading comprehension, strong interpretational and inferencing skills acquired from sustained question practice. - In English creative writing, a maturity and fluidity in the writing, from both grammatical and creative content standpoints. I am confident that so long as your child possesses a willingness to learn, I will provide the full support in respect of knowledge and techniques as well as the programme for your child to succeed.
