About Grant
I have a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL and 20 years' experience successfully supporting international students from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and levels in the development of their English Language and Academic and Research Skills. I can provide tuition in General English, Business English, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and English language exam preparation for tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge English Qualifications
So whether you are studying at A-Level or Foundation, on a degree course or are a Pre-Masters student, I can successfully support you in your academic journey, offering personalised lessons of varying lengths according to your learning needs. My qualifications, professional experience, personal qualities, and continuing interest in English language teaching combine to ensure a knowledgeable, skilled, and committed educator with an acute awareness of and respect for cultural differences and sensitivities.
I relate well to learners of different ages and diverse backgrounds and aim to provide a relaxed yet focused student-centred learning environment. I can carry out a range of professional responsibilities and administrative duties, which includes designing, delivering, and evaluating English language provision for different levels of instruction, administering and marking placement and progress tests, assessing and monitoring the level and language needs of individual students, and writing reports. With many years’ experience as a Personal Tutor, I can provide both pastoral and academic support to students, addressing their concerns in an empathetic yet professional manner.
