About Lana

Originally from Cleveland, I moved to Dover, Ohio with my husband in 2021. I now live in New Philadelphia, and have grown to really love this small town! I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and International Relations from Cleveland State University in 2016, where I graduated as Valedictorian. I then got my Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages & Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh, where I completed my doctoral studies in 2022. During my time at the University of Pittsburgh, I was a Graduate Student Instructor and taught several Spanish courses. I have also done online English and literacy tutoring with virtual learning companies such as Brilliant Grades and Littera Education. As part of my training at Littera, I became certified to teach literacy through the Teachers College Reading and Writing Program, which is offered through Columbia University. I currently work as a Children’s Caseworker and offer free K-5 literacy tutoring through the Bolivar Library. I have a real passion for serving the local community, language learning, and teaching youth and adults! My ultimate goal is to start a successful tutoring business for all ages :)
