About Smith
With 18 years of experience as a flute tutor, I have taught High School, College, and adult students, reaching around 150-200 learners. I believe that music is a powerful way to build confidence, creativity, and self-expression. My teaching philosophy emphasises patience, encouragement, and personalised lessons that adapt to each student’s needs.
A milestone I treasure was guiding a student from struggling with basic notes to performing in front of a large audience with confidence. I focus on building not just technical skill but also a love for music and self-confidence that extends beyond the classroom.
Lessons with me are interactive, engaging, and designed to inspire students to explore their musical potential fully. Teaching flute is my passion, and helping students achieve their goals brings me immense satisfaction.

My flute teaching methodology is built around practical learning, creativity, and personal growth. I use real-life examples and case studies to help students understand musical concepts in a clear and relatable way. I emphasise motivation, encouraging students to stay confident, curious, and excited about learning music.
Problem-solving is a key part of my lessons. I guide students through technical and musical challenges, helping them develop independence and skill. Integrity is central to my approach, fostering discipline, honesty, and respect for music. I also practise flexibility, adapting lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style.
Besides flute, I teach related subjects like music theory and fundamentals to give students a complete understanding. My goal is to make every lesson engaging, productive, and enjoyable, helping students grow creatively, technically, and personally.
