About Grace
I’m a university History and Modern Languages student (Spanish and Dutch) with a strong interest in history, English, politics, and social theory. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand them in a clearer, more approachable way. Genuinely one of the most rewarding parts of working with people and helping them build confidence in subjects they may find difficult or overwhelming. I’m aiming for a career connected to politics and international relations, academia, or research, and tutoring is a way for me to share my enthusiasm for these subjects while supporting students in their own learning.
I particularly enjoy English Language, Sociology and History because they focus on how people think, communicate, and interpret the world. I place a strong emphasis on the significance of analytical source skills and critical thinking as constructing arguments and interpreting information is key. I also write a Substack blog where I explore my niche historical and political interest in Latin America and the Caribbean. It’s something I genuinely enjoy, and it reflects the direction I hope to go in academically and professionally.

My approach is on making sure content is clear, structured and is focused on specifications. It's key that students understand the content rather than memorising as it makes breaking down questions a lot easier.
My sessions will be adapted to students' specific needs and will last 1 hour; however, specific arrangements can be made.
I do not hold a formal teaching qualification but I believe my strong academic background supports me. I achieved strong results in my GCSEs across all subjects. I have completed the IB Diploma receiving a 6 in HL History (equivalent to an A at A-Level). Now I have continued my passion for history studying it at university alongside modern languages.
Experience supporting younger students through informal tutoring, including peer mentoring and helping family members. In addition, I am confident in helping students of different ages, including helping teach chess to younger learners, which has strengthened my ability to explain strategies clearly and adapt my communication style
My tutoring is aimed at:
GCSE students needing support or grade improvement
IB students needing help with HL History or SL English Language and Literature
Students who want to improve exam technique, essay writing, or revision structure
Learners who benefit from clear, step-by-step explanations rather than memorisation
Sessions are supportive, structured, and designed to build confidence as well as improve grades.
