About Declan
I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, having attained a high 2:1 in my Ancient and Modern History degree, preparing to begin an MA in Magazine Journalism at City, University of London. I have also achieved strong GCSE and A Level results (five 9s, two 8s and three 7s at GCSE and three A*s and one A at A Level) and so have a strong academic background and knowledge of exam boards and best ways to approach exam questions. I also have experience as a teaching assistant in a Primary School so have gained insights into the best teaching methods and ways of structuring lessons and approaching difficult concepts.

I can teach in person in and around the North West London area but can also offer online lessons. Lessons would be structured around trying to gauge what the key themes and ideas the student may be struggling with, and seeking to approach them in a co-operative way through conversation, rather than me just speaking at the student for a prolonged period. I tend to find that engaging the student in the conversation as much as possible and prompting them to approach a problem from a different perspective can often prove the most fruitful form of learning.
