About Jiya

I bring strong academic achievement and hands-on tutoring experience to every lesson. I achieved 3A*s at A-Level, placing as the second-highest performing student in my school year. These results reflect not only subject expertise but also the study techniques, exam strategies, and time management skills I now teach my students. I have over a year of experience as a tutor with a private tuition company, where I designed and delivered lessons tailored to individual learning needs. My personalised approach led to a 72% improvement in student exam results. I also helped organise and lead assessment days for over 100 students, liaised with parents to support academic progress, and created targeted revision plans. About the lesson

Each lesson will be tailored for the specific needs of the student, making it conducive to help the student attain top grades. Lessons are 60 minutes long and follow a structured but flexible format. Each session begins with a short recap to reinforce prior learning and identify any gaps. This is followed by a focused explanation of new material, broken down into manageable sections. The core of the lesson involves interactive discussion, worked examples, and guided practice to deepen understanding. The session ends with a brief summary, highlighting key takeaways and setting targets for independent work or revision. Teaching methods are student-centred, prioritising clarity, engagement, and confidence-building. Lessons are adapted to individual learning styles and goals, whether preparing for exams, improving writing skills, or tackling difficult topics. Scaffolding techniques, retrieval practice, and Socratic questioning are regularly used to develop independent thinking and long-term retention. Sessions are suitable for secondary school students (KS3, GCSE, and A-Level), especially those studying essay-based subjects such as History, Politics, or English. Lessons also support university applicants with personal statements, writing structure, and analytical skills. The aim is not only to help students improve grades, but also to equip them with tools to think critically, express themselves clearly, and study effectively—skills that benefit them far beyond the classroom.
