About Samuel
Hi, I'm Samuel! I'm a History and Politics graduate from the University of Warwick (2:1), and I'm about to start an MA Law conversion in London. I've always loved History and Politics, not just as subjects to study, but as ways of understanding how the world actually works, and that's the energy I try to bring into a lesson. I want students to feel like they're having a conversation, not sitting through a lecture. Alongside my degree, I've worked in fast-paced, detail-focused environments, including a placement at an international law firm and an internship in wealth management, which taught me how to take something complicated and explain it clearly, without losing what makes it interesting. That's the same approach I bring to tutoring: patience, clear explanations, and making sure things actually click rather than just get repeated back. I'm also fluent in Mandarin, so I'm comfortable working with students and families who speak Mandarin at home too. Whether you're working toward GCSEs, A-levels or just want to build confidence in reading and writing, essay technique, I’d love to help

My lessons are built around active learning rather than passive revision — we work through past paper questions, break down mark schemes together, and practise structuring essays that actually hit the criteria examiners look for. I usually start each session by identifying weak spots, then build targeted exercises around them, whether that's source analysis, argument structure, or exam timing.
Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes depending on the topic and student's pace, and I adapt each one to the specification being studied (AQA, Edexcel, or OCR). I'm currently completing my History and Politics degree at the University of Warwick with a 2:1, and I've built strong essay-writing and analytical skills through both academic study and real-world commercial and legal work experience.
I work with GCSE and A-level students of all levels, from those needing to consolidate fundamentals to those aiming for top grades, and I focus on building genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation, so the skills carry beyond the exam itself.
