About Siobhan
Hi there! My name is Siobhan :) I half English and half Irish. I studied Politics for my Bachelors degree at Newcastle University. I then moved to the Netherlands to do my Masters in International Relations at Leiden University. I am beginning my PhD in Italy this September, focusing on Rhodesian decolonisation (now Zimbabwe) at the United Nations from 1962 to 1980.
I have a good knowledge of global affairs since 1945 and I am very enthusiastic to share my passion for modern global history with you :) I can also tutor and help you to improve your writing skills in Academic English! Whilst I have never tutored history, I have taught English as a Foreign Language and I am motivated to teach and learn more! I am keen to build content around my skills and your needs, and to make you love history as much as I do!
Areas of tutoring
GCSE and A-Level: The Troubles in Northern Ireland, Soviet History, US Government and Politics, Fascist Italy, British Politics and the US Civil Rights Movement.
Bachelors level or below: Russian Politics, African politics since the end of colonialism, European Union Politics, Chinese Politics, US Politics, Democracy in Europe, and International Relations theory.
Masters level or below: History of International Order, the United Nations, the Role of Youth and Global South actors at the UN, Women's Rights Movements, Decolonisation especially British at the UN and the Commonwealth, and Human Rights.
