About Roisin

Hello! I’m Roisin, a Politics and Modern History undergraduate at the University of Manchester. I’ve spent the past several years working closely with young people in educational and informal settings, including tutoring, classroom support, and leading summer camps. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and tailoring learning to each student’s needs. I am passionate about History because I believe it helps us understand the world, think critically, and connect past events to the present. Sharing this passion with my students is incredibly rewarding — I'm here to help develop confidence, curiosity, and skills that go beyond exams. My goal as a tutor is to create engaging, accessible, and inspiring lessons that help every student become a confident and enthusiastic historian, just like me!

About the lesson

As a Politics and Modern History undergraduate at the University of Manchester, I offer personalised History tutoring for GCSE and A-Level students. With a government-endorsed National Tutoring Programme qualification and one year of hands-on experience as a tutor and teaching assistant in a London secondary school, I’m confident in helping students build both knowledge and exam skills. I am passionate about History because I believe it helps us understand the world, make sense of current events, and develop critical thinking skills. I bring this enthusiasm into every lesson, making topics engaging and relevant. I tailor lessons to suit each student’s needs, including those with additional educational needs, ensuring material is accessible, engaging, and challenging. Lessons may include structured exam technique practice, catch-up sessions, extension topics, source analysis and interactive activities to make learning enjoyable and memorable. My goal is to help students feel confident, supported, and motivated in History.
