About Helena
My name is Helena, and I am a postgraduate student eager to support learners who find material or structuring their work challenging, as someone who has faced similar challenges myself. I am easy-going, encouraging, and flexible, tailoring lessons to suit each student’s needs.
I have experience tutoring English and Norwegian to learners at all levels, including one-to-one and group settings. I have also supported native English speakers in refining their language skills, particularly for academic purposes, and I have worked with Mannings Tutors, gaining valuable experience helping students achieve their goals.
I specialise in IB and GCSE subjects, including English (Language and Literature), History, and other humanities. I focus on helping students build confidence, improve fluency, and develop structured, clear writing for essays, coursework, and exams. My lessons are practical and student-centred, combining conversation, exam preparation, and targeted feedback to suit each learner’s goals.
Through my work as an academic tutor and mentor, I have helped students strengthen both their written and spoken communication, supporting them to feel confident in real-life, academic, and exam contexts. As a multilingual speaker, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and aim to make lessons clear, practical, and motivating, where progress feels achievable and mistakes are part of the learning process.
