About Merve
Merve Tekin is a bio-architect, educator, and co-founder of OBARUHU Natural Builders Collective, dedicated to holistic design and collective building.
Since 2011, she has been actively involved in hands-on, sustainable architecture, integrating Vaastu Shastra, bioclimatic design, and natural materials to create regenerative spaces that support both human well-being and ecological harmony.
Her work explores the relationship between body and space through Yoga, Kalari, Odissi, and Vaastu Shastra, deepening her understanding of spatial energy and movement.
As an educator, she shares this knowledge through workshops, retreats, and consultations, guiding individuals and communities towards more conscious, nature-aligned design.

Design Values & Teaching Methodologies We create living, breathing spaces that align with nature, enhance well-being, and foster connection.
By integrating Vaastu Shastra, bioclimatic design, and natural materials, our approach is both holistic and hands-on.
Core Methodologies:
Vaastu Shastra & Spatial Energy – Designing with natural energy flow. Bioclimatic Design – Adapting architecture to climate and ecology.
Natural Materials – Building with earth, wood, and regenerative resources.
Community-Centric Design – Co-creating through collective participation.
Embodied Space & Movement – Exploring spatial awareness through movement.
Design Retreats – Engaging in hands-on, holistic design experiences.
Learning & Consultation Through workshops, retreats, and online consultations, Merve Tekin guides students and professionals in applying sustainable, nature-integrated design to their projects.
Let’s shape spaces that heal, connect, and inspire.

I personally introduced Merve to the Superprof network whilst visiting Auroville in India. Merve is very warm, friendly and approachable and I really felt that she would be an excellent teacher and mentor. I’m excited for her to be able to share her experience and passion for natural building and sustainable architecture.
