About Purnima

I'm an Office Manager of Indian descent. My passion for cooking comes from 35 years' experience of home cooking . Whilst Indian cuisine is my ‘comfort’ zone there is often fusion in my cooking with influence from different times in my life and inspiration from recipes. I integrate this into my Indian cookery to present sumptuous dishes that have a touch of tradition with a bit of tweak!

Since the pandemic I've been volunteering with charities by offering online cookery lessons in groups of up to 10 participants. My lessons have had consistent attendance and gained popularity and more importantly encourage participants to cook more regularly.

About the lesson

I want to share how we can serve up tasty and nutritious family meals easily and making the best use of ingredients you have in your kitchen.

“You are what you eat!” Cook with me if you would like to eat more than just baked beans on toast, tasteless ready-made meals and expensive take-aways.

My approach is holistic and include helpful tips to ensure the kitchen is organised to make cooking easy and desirable. Preparation process includes gathering ingredients and equipment in advance before we start. The first lesson will have none/minimal cookery demonstration as it will be used to introduce the different spices to make sure you have the spices and supplies needed to start cooking.

Cooking should be enjoyed so I will work at a pace the learner finds comfortable.
