About Sophia
A rising sophomore at Franciscan University, I have a reputation for strong writing, editing, and communication. With years of experience as a magazine editor, English teacher, and workshop producer and leader, I have a writing skills that emphasize practice and not just theory. I have distinguished experience with recent AP exams in history and English and love to share what I've learned with others. I also have experience as an English as a second language (ESL) teacher and am fluent in Ukrainian. I hope that we can grow your love for language together!

Because of my experience, I hope to tutor middle school and high school level students with a working understanding of mechanics and usage. With the student already equipped with tools and skills, we can work to build new skills and fluency. Lessons will be comprised of a teaching section to ensure understanding, followed by practical application. This would be any work that the student is currently working on (e.g. a resumé, essay, presentation) or an application of the lesson in a provided text. There are many wonderful general resources available online but I will provide a unique, catered learning experience for your student.
