About Olivia
Hello! My name is Olivia Boucher, and I am an architect, educator, and visual thinker. I believe students learn best when complex ideas are broken down into clear, approachable steps. My teaching style is highly visual, using diagrams, sketches, and examples to help students build confidence and develop their own problem-solving skills.
Alongside my teaching experience, I have worked professionally with BriggsKnowles Architecture + Design and Zero Waste Providence, where I developed skills in design communication, research, mapping, and presenting technical information to a wide range of audiences. These experiences reinforced the importance of making complex ideas accessible and understandable.
As both an architect and painter, I encourage creativity alongside technical understanding. Whether a student is learning architecture, design, drawing, environmental systems, or related subjects, my goal is to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and growing as independent thinkers.

My lessons focus on helping students understand architecture through visual thinking. Rather than relying solely on lectures or memorization, I use diagrams, sketches, and step-by-step visual exercises to break down complex ideas into approachable concepts. Whether we are discussing design principles, spatial relationships, structures, environmental systems, or portfolio development, I believe students learn best when they can see how ideas connect.
As both an architect and a painter, I encourage students to develop their own visual language and design process. My goal is not only to help students complete a project or prepare an application, but to teach them how to think critically, communicate ideas clearly, and approach design problems with confidence. Lessons are tailored to each student’s experience level and learning style, creating a supportive environment where creativity and technical skills can develop together.
