About Marie
I am a former national marketing director and community liaison in the government who is graduating with a Ph.D. in Communication in 2022, has an M.A. in Strategic Communications and has successfully mentored undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students for a 100% success rate in statements of purpose, and unique essays, theses, and dissertations. There is a specific method that I developed at U.C.L.A. and have been passing it onto my students to use for the rest of their lives.

I have my Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate (TESOL) and teach ESL to Adult learners, and also have been teaching at two districts for four years. My approach is total engagement with each student to mold the lesson plan to individual professional/academic goals. I encourage critical and independent thinking and am very experienced with teaching literacy since 2012-2014 when I worked on and earned AmeriCorps Literacy Achievement Award for my work in Los Angeles schools. I encourage discussion, questions, and use a multi-faceted approach wherein the student comes away having learned fundamental research, fact-finding and fact-checking skills to fortify essays and theses and to empower the student for a successful academic and professional future.
