Hi! I'm Lisa Bassett, a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for helping learners grow in confidence and reach their full potential. I have a background in Drama and a wealth of experience teaching a variety of subjects including English, Afrikaans, History, Life Skills, Technology, and Geography. I’m also actively involved in event planning, social media, and community fundraising, which brings creativity and real-world experience into my teaching. Whether in the classroom or during one-on-one sessions, I strive to make learning engaging, meaningful, and fun!

Private Tutoring Approach: As a passionate and experienced educator, my approach to private tutoring is student-centered, engaging, and highly adaptable to individual learning needs. I believe that every learner has a unique way of understanding and interacting with content, and my lessons are designed to meet each student where they are, while gently pushing them to reach their full potential. Methodology and What Makes Me Unique: My teaching methodology combines clear structure with creative, interactive activities. I draw on my background in drama and event organization to make lessons dynamic and memorable—whether we're working on a tricky grammar concept or preparing for an oral presentation. I use real-life examples, visuals, and storytelling techniques to bring lessons to life, ensuring learners are both supported and challenged. What sets me apart is my ability to build strong rapport with students and create a safe, encouraging space for them to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I am deeply invested in each learner’s progress, and I take the time to tailor lessons to their specific interests, goals, and learning styles. Languages: I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans, and I am able to teach effectively in either language, depending on the student’s preference.
