About Jackson
I have just recently finished my study for my Honors degree, and am passionate about continuing to engage with study of the Classical world. What has always drawn me to this field is its multidisciplinary nature, encompassing history, cultural studies, literature, linguistics, political science, and more. My particular expertise is in linguistics and comparative religious studies, but I have great appreciation for all facets of the Greek and Roman worlds. Discussing ideas and connections, acquiring knowledge, developing expertise, and achieving the confidence to pursue areas of interest drive my own studies and teaching, and I aim to inspire this same enthusiasm in my students.

I offer tutoring for both continuous study and exam prep in Classics, Latin, and Ancient Greek. I tailor my sessions to the needs of the student, whether broad overviews or in-depth study of a particular point is needed. I have completed a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Classics at the University of Canterbury, and received Top Achiever awards in both Greek and Latin. I have four months of tutoring experience in Ancient Greek, and am confident and comfortable with working alongside a student and engaging in discussion to facilitate learning. Lesson length can be 1-2 hours or as long as needed, for students up to undergraduate level.
