About Sumaiyya
With over 4 years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of diverse age groups, ranging from 4 to 17 years old. My journey began with private tutoring, and then a volunteer position at a nonprofit tutoring organization, where I gained experience in both one-on-one and group sessions--specifically virtually.
I am currently an Honours Science University student. Continuing my passion for teaching into university, I currently serve as a Mentor Executive for a volunteer teaching assistant program. This initiative collaborates with schools in my city to provide in-classroom support, allowing me to assist students directly in their learning environments. Additionally, I coordinate and facilitate several training events for hundreds of students interested in volunteering within these schools.
I’ve also had the rewarding experience of working with a student with a speech issue, adapting my approach to meet their unique needs and ensuring they felt confident and supported throughout the learning process. I strive to continue this method in my current tutoring experiences.
My broad range of experience has equipped me to tailor lessons to each student’s needs, whether in a private or group setting. I’m committed to fostering confidence, critical thinking, and strong academic foundations in all my students.

As a dedicated tutor with over 4 years of experience (private and non profit tutoring), I tailor each lesson to the unique needs of my students, ensuring they feel confident in their learning. My teaching approach combines clear explanations, interactive activities, and personalized feedback to create a tailored learning environment for each student.
A typical lesson:
A. Begins with a brief review (tests, written activities, school assignments, etc.);
B. Is followed by targeted exercises;
C. Concludes with questions and feedback to solidify understanding.
Additionally, I provide a Google Drive (accessible to both students and parents) containing all resources used during and outside of tutoring sessions.
Whether you're an elementary school student learning the basics or preparing for high school assignments, I focus on building strong foundations in English while enhancing critical thinking and communication skills.
