If you are heading to the US to study, you and your family have already invested a small fortune and thousands of hours in your education and preparation. However, 99% of international students never prepare for Culture Shock, which is the number one cause of international student failure in US schools, not academic performance.
If you intend to arrive in America fully prepared to succeed academically, professionally and personally, then I want to help you achieve those dreams.
The principle behind understanding and planning for Culture Shock is simple - if you can't adjust to life in the culture of America things will not go well for you. Fortunately, there is a simple solution. Learn what you will be facing, and have a plan to deal with it. Culture Shock is a well-known psychological process and you can predict its stages in your own life during the first six months in America. I've written a free book for you that will give you all the information you need. However, I'm also available for a few lessons in which we can work out a personal plan for you.
I anticipate that you will spend less than five lessons with me creating your personal plan for dealing with Culture Shock in America. Your investment of a few hours in Culture Shock preparation will be strong insurance against vulnerability to the toll this stressful period can take on your health, happiness and academic performance.
When it comes to helping international students adjust to life in America, some schools are great, most others are not very good. The specific challenges of cultural adjustment you will face also depend heavily on where in America you study and live. You will be adjusting to one American culture in California and another in Georgia, Texas, Kansas or Massachusetts. I can offer specific help and advice that is culture-specific to American regions.
After downloading and reading my new free book with a bibliography hyperlinked to key research in the field, you can browse it and then decide if you want to engage me for some planning sessions to explore your personal needs in depth.
A little time and money invested in this effort could make a great difference in how well your entire American experiences turns out.
