About Caroline
I am about to be a senior at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas (Whoop!). I grew up in Europe and started learning French when I was 8 years old, and have fallen in love with the language since then. I've gotten to practice my French in many French speaking countries and love traveling as well! I have tutored students before who were wanting supplemental help with their high school curriculum as well as students who were homeschooled and needed to be fully taught. Since moving to the States from Europe I have taken many steps to ensure I never lose proficiency in my second language, such as taking French classes in high school and changing my phone to display only in French rather than English.

I am a big believer in hands-on teaching and learning styles that are personally suited to each student, rather than a one-size-fits-all/textbook style. A typical lesson plan would be personalized based on if the student is needing supplemental help with a school course or to be taught from ground zero. However, listening to songs, watching short films, using learning apps (such as Duolingo), matching quizzes, and short story prompts I always find to be both fun and helpful! These lessons would typically be geared more towards the intermediate level or lower, however I am willing to adapt my curriculum to fit anyone's needs.

Caroline studied French in elementary school at an International School outside of London. She easily picked up the grammatical rules of the French language. Without much prior exposure to conversational French, she could easily understand native French speakers when she traveled to Paris in elementary school. By middle school, when traveling to France on several occasions, her conversational French skills were advanced for her age and training. When she traveled to France in high school, she was very comfortable speaking conversationally with native French speakers. Currently, she sets her phone's navigation system to the French language and can navigate her way effortlessly. In addition to her strong grasp of the French language, Caroline is a patient and empathic person who is gifted in teaching others.

Details
All materials are completely free unless the student requests to use a specific textbook I do not have access to and would need to purchase. I am more than willing to travel to you if online lessons are not applicable, however, additional charges may occur if I am driving super far! If you need to cancel less than 24 hours in advance I am more than willing to work with you if it is due to circumstances beyond your control. If you reschedule (and show up to the rescheduled time) there will be no cancellation fee for the first session you missed. However, if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance and do not wish to reschedule you will be charged for 50% of the appointment.
