About Ben
I am a qualified teacher with extensive experience in the classroom. I have HSC Marking experience and have taught Advanced HSC English, Extension 1 and 2. My passion is creative writing and exploring the human condition through language. I appreciate the power of functional grammar and am an advocate for understanding the mechanics of language with the aim of both enriching the understanding of texts and refining our own writing.

Over ten years experience teaching HSC English
My tutoring approach is flexible and my goal is to meet students where they are on their learning journey.
I can help with fundamentals of grammar, function and form of language, overcoming creative obstacles, refining written responses and setting achievable goals.
I can guide students through textual analysis and critical interpretations of contemporary and classic texts.
As an educator my ambition is for my students to trust themselves, be prepared to make mistakes and to enjoy the journey.
Tutoring is offered for Year 6 through to Year 12.
